Jason Layton, Vice President, joined Jacobs Capital after serving in senior corporate development and management roles at Quintiles, Health Decisions and PPD, where he was instrumental in over $1 billion in M&A transactions. He began his career as an M&A attorney with the international law firm Hunton & Williams, and later as in-house counsel at The Compass Group, an international food services organization. Mr. Layton spent 9 years in the pharmaceutical services industry where, in addition to his M&A roles, he held finance P&L responsibility for business units ranging from $10m to over $700m in annual revenue.
Mr. Layton received his B.S. degree from Duke University; his J.D. from Tulane Law School–where he was a Merit Fellowship recipient and Director of the Tulane Legal Assistance Program– and his MBA from UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, where he was also a Merit Fellowship recipient. He is a former member of the Board of Directors for the Raleigh-Durham chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), current Treasurer for the Duke Alumni Club of the Triangle, and a Sunday School teacher at White Memorial Presbyterian Church.
