Our Purpose
Jacobs Capital was founded exclusively to serve business owners who want to realize the fruits of their labor in building their company. Unlike virtually all of our competitors, we do not represent corporate buyers or private equity firms, roles which present major conflicts of interest for a seller. The party on the other side of the table when we represent you is not a current or potential future client. Our undivided loyalty is to our business owner client.
When private equity firms hire investment bankers to sell their portfolio companies, there is a quid pro quo. They expect special treatment when those bankers bring them a business owner looking to sell their company. We offer no one preferential treatment. What we do offer is a highly professional sale process with total integrity so that we earn the respect of buyers for competence and fairness without giving them a leg up at your expense.
Industry-focused M&A specialists consistently return to the same buyers, making those relationships more important to them than a one-and-done seller. We vow to never rely on a single industry or buyer group for our livelihood so that our undivided loyalty to a business owner is never compromised.
As the former head of merger and acquisition policy for the U.S. Treasury Department, and head of several prominent M&A practices, our founder knows how the M&A game is played. Simply put, we don’t play that game.
