Mark Phillips, Managing Director

As Managing Director, Mark Phillips leads the execution of M&A transactions and manages most daily operations for Jacobs Capital.  He began working with the firm in 2010, first as an Associate and later as a Vice President, before assuming his current role.  Prior to business school, He spent seven years in a variety of roles with a subsidiary of Barclays in Charlotte, NC and Phoenix, AZ.

​Mr. Phillips received both his Bachelor’s and MBA degrees from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  While earning his MBA, he was a fellowship recipient, a Dean’s Scholar, and was awarded the Frank Hawkins Kenan Award, given to the top overall student in the class. Mr. Phillips also serves as Board President for the Raleigh-Durham chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), the nation’s largest middle-market M&A trade organization, and is a member of Greensboro’s Society of Financial Services Professionals.
